Fifth Third Championships

USTA Kentucky will host a High School QuickStart Championships at the Fifth Third Championships at UK’s Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on July 20.  Join us for this fun tournament where you could have the chance to play with a USTA Pro Circuit player! Click here to view more details for the event. USTA Southern RBC Bank Flex League Registration OPEN!

Registration is now open for Flex League through July 6!  Flex Leagues offer players a new way to enjoy organized competition without the commitment to a specific schedule or team. You play whenever it’s convenient for you—weekends, mornings, nights, even on your lunch hour! The season begins July 13 through September 13. Adult and Senior Men and Women Divisions are offered at levels 2.5 to 4.0 in Lexington and Louisville.  Register for a league today at www.southernflextennis.com.

Four KY High School Seniors Awarded the Jason Isaacs Memorial Scholarship

Thank you to the Isaacs family for their generosity and for giving Kentucky juniors the opportunity to pursue their goals.  This year’s winners will each receive $1,000 toward their college tuition.  Congratulations to the following recipients: Hannah Hagan of Paducah, currently attends Lone Oak High School and will attend Bellarmine University this fall; Chad Lavelle of Prospect, currently attends St. Xavier High School and will attend University of Notre Dame this fall; Arianna Rydeen of Louisville, currently attends Christian Academy and will attend Morehead State University this fall; and Aaron Smith of Crestwood, currently attends Oldham County High School and will attend the University of Kentucky this fall.

 Tennis Camp Scholarships
The mission of the Raise a Racquet Foundation is "To improve lives through tennis and education".  Summer Tennis Camp Scholarships are now available through our Raise a Racquet Foundation.  For more details and to complete the application, please click here complete the application form .  Each camp applicant is responsible for his/her own transportation to and from the awarded camp. These scholarships are only available for juniors residing in Kentucky and must have a current USTA membership.  Applicants must be at least 8 years old.  Scholarships cannot be awarded to university hosted camps if the junior has begun the 9th grade as an NCAA requirement.

Jr. TeamTennis/QuickStart--- Are you In?
Do you know of a child, age 5-18, that would like to play on a tennis team this summer?  For your child to experience the fun, exercise and social opportunity of playing USTA league tennis?  To learn as a team, practice as a team and compete as a team?  Teams advance to the Kentucky Jr. Team Tennis Championship.  Programs are being formed all over Kentucky, with play beginning very soon.  If you want to be a Jr. Team Tennis Coordinator in your area, please contact Bruce Stone at 502-491-1290. 

USTA Launches new No Cut High School Tennis Coach Site & Support
The USTA has announced the launch of a new website designed to serve as a resource for its nearly 1,800 high school coaches who have adopted a no-cut philosophy.  The website, www.usta.com/no-cut, provides access to an interactive community where all high school coaches registered in the USTA’s No-Cut program can share tips, success stories and challenges as they continue their pledge to offer all high school kids the opportunity to play tennis. For complete information, please go to  http://www.usta.com/news/fullstory.sps?inewsid=535793
