Two Kentucky Teams are headed to Nationals!
USTA Kentucky is excited to announce that Louisville’s 3.0 Adult Women’s Team and Lexington’s 4.0 Senior Women’s Team have been crowned winners at the Southern Sectional Championships! Both teams represented USTA Kentucky at the Southern Sectional Championships held in Mobile, Alabama July 19-22. The teams will now represent USTA Southern at the National Championships in October. Congratulations to all teams that qualified to play in Mobile and good luck to our teams headed to Nationals!
1st Annual Apple Patch Tennis Exhibition
Don’t miss this opportunity to see Bruno Agostinelli who plays #1 for UK, take on his new teammate and four-time Kentucky State Champion, Eric Quigley! The two are playing in an exhibition match to raise awareness for the Apple Patch organization. USTA Kentucky Road Trip!
(The Louisville bus is a go and we are working on adding a second bus! We have had no response from Lexington, so that may not happen.) Join USTA Kentucky on a road trip to the ATP Masters Series in Cincinnati on Wednesday, July 30. USTA Kentucky will provide transportation and tickets for only $70 a person! Bus will depart Louisville at 8:30 a.m. from Lowe's at Norton Crossing. We have had requests to have an additional bus depart from Lexington so please let us know if you would like to reserve a seat on that bus. USTA Kentucky is looking for tennis enthusiasts to work as independent contractors to coordinate and administer a new and exciting Tri-Level League. Ryder Cup Ticket Winner Announced
Congratulations to Mary Jane Miller who won two season passes to the 2008 Ryder Cup. The drawing was held on Saturday, June 28th at The Louisville Marriott East Bluegrass Lounge. Thanks to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket. Through your generosity, USTA Kentucky raised over $11,000 to benefit the Raise the Racquet Foundation.
USTA Kentucky 3.0 & 4.0 Adult League Championships
USTA Kentucky men and women 3.0 and 40 teams ended their season on June 29 at the Adult League Championships in Louisville. A special thanks to all volunteers and The Tennis Association of Louisville Kentucky (TALK) for helping to host the event for the past two weekends. 2008 USTA Kentucky Adult League Championships USTA Kentucky men and women’s 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5 teams wrapped up their season on June 22 at the Adult League Championships in Louisville. The men and women’s 3.0 and 4.0 Adult Championship will be held June 27-29. Free Adult & Junior Summer Clinics West Louisville Tennis Club's annual Junior Development Tennis Clinic will begin Tuesday, June 17th. Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to participate in this free clinic. It is an eight week clinic that will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 PM. Jr. TeamTennis/QuickStart--- Are you In?
Do you know of a child, age 5-18, that would like to play on a tennis team this summer? For your child to experience the fun, exercise and social opportunity of playing USTA league tennis? To learn as a team, practice as a team and compete as a team? Teams advance to the Kentucky Jr. Team Tennis Championship. Programs are being formed all over Kentucky, with play beginning very soon. USTA Launches new No Cut High School Tennis Coach Site & Support The USTA has announced the launch of a new website designed to serve as a resource for its nearly 1,800 high school coaches who have adopted a no-cut philosophy. The website, www.usta.com/no-cut, provides access to an interactive community where all high school coaches registered in the USTA’s No-Cut program can share tips, success stories and challenges as they continue their pledge to offer all high school kids the opportunity to play tennis.
