Kentucky Level 1 and Southern Level 3
This is a Kentucky Level 1 and Southern Level 3 tournament. There are no limits on entries.  You must be a member of USTA Kentucky District to play in this event.

LIABILITY WAIVER AND PARENT ALERT FORM:   Please bring the completed liability waiver and Southern Parent Alert Form with you to the first match.  Or if possible, fax to 502-491-1228 or email to Creason@ustaky.com before the tournament to make first match registration easier!  Parents must sign if player is under 18 years old.  We must have a signed waiver before the player takes the court.   Please

 Please remember, it could be raining at one site and not the other, please report to your site at your scheduled time, unless otherwise notified by tournament staff.


Southern Closed Information:  REGISTRATION DEADLINE JUNE 5th.  Please see Player Guide for complete information!

All players that anticipate or hope to advance to the Southern Closed, as an endorsed player or as an alternate, must be registered on TennisLink by June 5.  You will only be charged entry fees if your child qualifies for the event.  More information on the Southern Closed can be found at www.southerntennis.com

The entry deadline for both singles and doubles applicants for the Joe Creason State Qualifier will be strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made. The deadline will be eight days prior to the start of the tournament, Friday May 15 at Noon Eastern Time.  If the draw is 32 players or less, we will ateempt, weather permitting, to complete these divisions the first weekend.

The tournament director will NOT partner players for doubles. All players are responsible for finding his or her own partner. If not already done so during initial registration, all players must designate their doubles partner to the tournament director five days prior to the start of the tournament (Monday, May 19, by noon!). This can be done via email to the State Competitive Player Coordinator at Creason@ustaky.com or by calling 502-491-1290.

The draw will be produced at 4pm Eastern, May 18 at the USTA KY Offices, open to the public.

Graduation Ceremony Schedule Considerations Deadline

Please email any graduation conflicts (ceremonies only!) by Friday, May 15th at noon for consideration. Email: creason@ustaky.com

Doubles Partner Deadline!

Be sure to specify your doubles partner by Noon on Monday, May 18! We'd like to hear from both partners!   You can enter singles and come back later and specify your doubles partner..  TennisLink will not charge your card until your child is accepted into the draw after the entry deadline.

Registered for Nationals?

If you are registered for a USTA National event the first weekend of the Creason, you may apply for a waiver if you are accepted into the National draw. If you are on the alternate list, you should register for the Creason before the Creason deadline. You must play in either Nationals or the Creason to qualify for the Southern Closed.   Click here for the waiver.  If you are seeking a waiver for illness/injury, please see the form for information needed.

Birth Certificates on File

Parents: USTA Southern requires your child's birth certificate must be on file with them in order to play in the USTA Southern Closed event. If this is your first "Creason" please get that birth certificate sent fax (502-491-1228) or email a copy to Creason@ustaky.com. If you think you have already submitted this for your child in past years, please click "more info" to go to the lookup site to double check. more info

Please be sure to read through this important information about Southern Junior Closed endorsements which includes info on quotas, the selection process, how to enter and other important FAQs. Download the document here. Please be advised that it is YOUR responsibility as a junior player or parent to find out if you are selected.

State / Quota Selector and Basis for Selection to Southern Closed
"To qualify for the Southern Closed Championships, a junior player must play in the Joe Creason Jr. Qualifying Tournament in the singles age division that the player wishes to be considered for the State Quota to the Southern Closed Championships. Participation in the Joe Creason is mandatory unless waived in advanced by the USTA KY JR Competition Committee."

For 2014, Kentucky will have the following quotas (Announced in mid-January)
Boys 10s, Girls 10s-----9
Boys 12s, Girls 12s-----7
Boys 14s, Girls 14s-----9
Boys 16s, Girls 16s-----9
Boys 18s, Girls 18s-----9
