Kentucky Residency Requirements/Birth Certificate Must Be On File To be eligible to compete in the Creason, a player must have a permanent address in KY. Residents in Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Countries are not deemed residents of the KY District. Players must be U.S. citizens, resident aliens in possession of a valid alien registration card, or aliens diplomatic or consular corps. In the case of a jr. player, the legal residency is that of the parents. Your birth certificate must be on file either with the USTA Southern office or USTA Kentucky. If it is not on file at the Southern office, fax your birth certificate to USTA Kentucky at (502) 491-1228.
State / Quota Selector and Basis for Selection to Southern Closed "To qualify for the Southern Closed Championships, a junior player must play in the Joe Creason Jr. Qualifying Tournament in the singles age division that the player wishes to be considered for the State Quota to the Southern Closed Championships. Participation in the Joe Creason is mandatory unless waived in advanced by the USTA KY JR Competition Committee."
For 2012, Kentucky will have the following quotas (Announced in mid-January) Boys 10s, Girls 10s-----10 Boys 12s, Girls 12s-----8 Boys 14s, Girls 14s-----10 Boys 16s, Girls 16s-----10 Boys 18s, Girls 18s-----10

16s: 6 teams (36 Boys, 36 Girls) will be selected for Winston-Salem, NC (July 25-29) Tennislink ID# for application site: 703929612 Tennislink ID# for Tournament Home Page: 703900512 All players must meet the requirements set forth in the USTA Southern Rules and Regulations.
Zonals are a National Team competition held yearly in July for elite juniors in the 12, 14, and 16 divisions. The teams compete against equal competition from other sections.
Endorsement/Eligibility/Requirements/Procedures
16 Zonals: Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 16s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry.
14 Zonals: Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 14s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry.
12 Zonals:Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 12s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry

Selections to Team Kentucky will be selected using all results thru August 15th, 2012. Initial interest letters will be sent in late July to the top 6-8 players in each division (that will still be eligible in that division thru September)
3 boys and 3 girls are selected from the Boys and Girls 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s. The 14-18s play as Team Kentucky against all other Southern states. The 12s players are separated onto equal teams based on rankings.
